TSGS Student Project Awards (Category VIII) are awarded in three divisions, Elementary grades 4-6, Intermediate grades 7-9 and High School grades 10-12.
Last year, Mavrick Murray was named the first place High School winner. Mavrick did research in his local library, talked with family members, visited cemeteries, gathered pictures, census records, birth certificates, and death certificates.
Mavrick has been very active in his community and assists others doing family research and was the Lufkin High School student football team manager. We are proud to announce that Mavrick graduated in May 2014 and will enter college this fall.
Student Projects must be submitted by September 15th to: Darwin L. Gilmore, 1400 Hermann Dr. Unit 4-E, Houston, TX 77004-7143.
