First Annual Black Family History Day Event at TSLAC on Saturday, February 13th

Join the Texas State Library and Archives Commission on Saturday, February 13th at noon for an afternoon devoted to black family history research. In collaboration with the Austin History Center and the Carver Genealogy Center, attendees will have the opportunity to learn tips for starting their research, learn about area resources, and ask questions related to their research.

Below is the list of classes:

Noon – 12:45 pm – Documenting Your History workshop led by LaToya Devezin, African-American Community Archivist at the Austin History Center.

1 pm – 1:45 pm – Resources for African-American [sic] at TSLAC presented by Tonia Woods, Senior Reference Archivist at the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.

2 pm – 2:45 pm – Genealogy Discussion forum moderated by Cynthia Evans, Genealogy Coordinator at the Carver Genealogy Center.

    My name is Kelly Sillers and I would love to attend the Black Family History Day but I have to work on that day. I was wondering would I still be able to recieve a copy of the syllabus to my email or by mail?

      • Hi, my name is Kelly Sillers and I would have loved to attend the First Black Family History Day research. I was not able to attend but is wondering do you have an extra copy of the syllabus to share?
