The 2016 TxSGS Family History Conference is less than three months from now and we are just a handful of days away from the release of the full three day schedule and opening of conference registration for attendees and exhibitors.
The growth of TxSGS has resulted in the need to more efficiently manage memberships and the automation of conference registration. While the original timeline was for registration to begin in July, we have decided to take some extra time to ensure that the new registration portal has been properly tested and can easily handle the influx of registrations. We believe the added convenience, for both our volunteers and for attendees, will be worth the short wait.
Speaking of growth, this year’s conference will be the biggest one yet. We have moved into a full three day schedule beginning on Friday morning, 28th October at 8:30 AM and ending Sunday afternoon, 30th October at 4:30 PM. This year we are fortunate to have not one, but two featured speakers, Judy Russell and Cyndi Ingle. Each will present a general session topic each morning before we break for a complimentary lunch. Each afternoon attendees may chose from multiple hour-long breakout sessions with different speakers and topics every 90 minutes. With over 70 sessions from 35 speakers, there will be something of interest and benefit for everyone.
Just as in past years, we will have multiple paid workshops, a welcome reception, and an awards banquet. We will share details of those when registration opens. Thank you for your eager patience and I hope to see you in Dallas in October.

It is the first of September and we (two friends and I) STILL can’t register for the conference. Still says registration will open in August. No update, no information. This is at least the second time this has happened (July). We have our hotel reservations, but can’t register for conference. What is going on?
Earline,
Registration opened the late morning of the September 1st. You can register online, if you didn’t already do so.
We apologize for the delay. But bringing on a new online membership and registration system was a very big project, and we are a team of volunteers. Thank you for your patience, and we look forward to seeing you in October.
I registered for a hotel room and was told the correct address to the hotel is: 1015 Elm Street NOT, I REPEAT, NOT 2015 as listed on all your paperwork.
Please correct this.
Thank you for catching that and bringing it to our attention. It has been updated on the website.
