TIGR 2021 Registration is Open!

The Texas State Genealogical Society (TxSGS) is excited to announce that registration is now open for our upcoming week-long Texas Institute for Genealogical Research (TIGR)!

Held virtually, TIGR 2021 takes place June 13-18, 2021.

What is TIGR?

TIGR 2021 promotes learning in an instructional online classroom atmosphere, taking each attendee’s skills to another level. A course coordinator and instructors lead students for five days in the same virtual classroom on a progression of topics on the same subject, Texas Research Essentials or Advanced Southern Research Techniques. This format provides a hands-on learning experience during the week along with great discussions with your instructors and classmates.

TIGR Registration

Registration is now open for TIGR 2021! Register during early bird registration (now through midnight April 30, 2021) and save. TxSGS members automatically receive an additional discount. Not a member? Join now.

Courses

TIGR 2021 offers four courses that create a unique learning experience for those researching ancestors in the Southwest. Along with new courses on DNA and African American research, Advanced Southern Research includes a focus on Western Expansion and Families of the South. In addition, TIGR’s inclusion of a unique course on Texas research addresses a critical need for genealogists researching complex Texas and early Republic of Texas records. Expanded for 2021, the Texas Research course examines Spanish and Hispanic influence and records.

Each of these courses includes sessions taught by nationally-recognized lecturers who are experts in their genealogical fields.

To learn more, see the TIGR 2021 course descriptions, which includes links to the course schedules and faculty.
