What is TIPS?
TIPS (TxSGS Impacting Partner Societies) is a fundraising program for Partner Societies that promotes the 2024 TxSGS Family History Conference. Each Partner Society that registers for TIPS receives a unique code. TxSGS will donate $10 to the Partner Society for each person that registers and enters the TIPS society code during the qualification period.
TxSGS Partner Societies were sent an email describing the program and how each society can participate. The following Q&A should provide answers to any details that you have questions about. If your society needs help registering or has any other questions, email Tony Hanson at membership@txsgs.org.
How does a society register for TIPS?
The society president or designee fills out the TIPS form to register and receive a unique TIPS code. Access the form here: https://forms.gle/7gMKPfu7sRiz9eV39.
Does a society have to be a member of TxSGS to participate?
Yes. The society must be a TxSGS member in good standing.
How can I determine my society’s membership status?
Log into your society’s TxSGS account at https://txsgs.app.neoncrm.com/np/clients/txsgs/login.jsp or contact Tony Hanson, Director of Membership, at memberinfo@txsgs.org.
Can my society join TxSGS and then participate in TIPS?
Yes! To join TxSGS, see https://www.txsgs.org/membership/. TxSGS recommends that your society join online here: https://www.txsgs.org/membership/membership-payment/. If you mail a check, your membership won’t be activated until we receive your payment, which can take as long as two weeks.
Does my society have to register during a specific time period to participate in TIPS?
No. A society can register any time before October15, but the sooner you start publicizing the conference and your code, the better.
Can anyone use my society’s code?
Yes. The conference registrant using your code doesn’t have to be a member of your society or a member of TxSGS, nor do they have to live in Texas or even the U.S.
How can I find out more about the 2024 TxSGS Family History Conference?
Check out the conference webpages at https://www.txsgs.org/family-history-conference/. You can explore TxSGS Live!, Speakers and Topics, registration packages, and more. Watch our site for the Bonus session announcement and other conference news!
What conference packages are eligible for TIPS fundraising?
$10 will be donated to the Partner Society for each person registering for the ALL ACCESS package.
What if society members register after October 30? Can my society receive $10 for them?
TIPS is limited to those who register with your society’s TIPS code through October 30, 2024. Anyone who registers after that time is not included.
What if someone registers before October 30 and forgets or neglects to enter their code? Can my society receive $10 for them?
Unfortunately, no. TIPS donations are limited to those who register and enter your society’s TIPS code when they register.
What if someone is a member of two societies – can they use two TIPS codes?
No. Only one TIPS code can be used by a conference registrant.
What if someone registers for the conference and then doesn’t pay or cancels?
Only those persons who pay for an ALL ACCESS package are included in TIPS fundraising donations to societies. If someone does not pay or cancels, that individual does not count toward your toward donation.
Is there any limit to where and how my society publicizes its TIPS code and the TxSGS Conference?
We encourage your society to distribute information about the conference and your code anywhere you normally publicize your events. There’s no need to keep your TIPS code private.
Where do I find publicity images and articles to promote the conference?
You can download media resources at https://www.txsgs.org/media-resources/.
When will the society receive their TIPS donation?
We expect to mail checks to participating societies sometime after the week of November 20.
