Though Wise County’s archives were devastated by a March 2023 fire, much of the archives were digitized and stored in a safe, off-site location. Volunteers can still access many books, all the family files, and newspapers dating back to 1880, obituaries, funeral home records, and school records. Phone or email to request research.
