Call for TxSGS 2018 Conference Volunteers

Volunteers are the lifeblood of non-profit organizations, and the Texas State Genealogical Society is no exception.

If you are planning to attend the 2018 TxSGS Family History Conference in San Antonio, November 2-4, consider volunteering. Volunteers help to make the conference a real success, and it’s a great way to meet people, network, and give something back to the genealogical community. Volunteer opportunities are available before, during, or after the conference. Volunteers do not have to be registered for the conference; however, those not registered may not attend sessions or monitor sessions.

Volunteers will be entered into a special drawing for door prizes, including a free registration to the next TxSGS Virtual Conference.

Registration: Volunteers will assist at the registration desk and with other associated responsibilities (Thursday-Sunday, 30 minutes prior to and 30 minutes after registration hours).

Room Monitor: Room Monitors will report and assist with the needs of the speakers and attendees in their room, check attendees for nametags, and survey needs in the room, etc. Volunteers will arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the  assigned session). One monitor is needed for each session. You may select from the list of sessions or sign up to volunteer and you will be assigned to a session. Unless already assigned, you may select a session you are planning to attend as a monitor!

Exhibit Hall: Volunteers are needed to monitor access to the exhibit hall during non-public hours Thursday (set-up day) and when the exhibit hall is open Friday-Sunday. Exhibitors will have unique badges that allow them access before public hours.

Ticket Taker / Greeter:  Volunteers are needed to collect tickets at the Partner Society Breakfast on Friday morning and the Awards Banquet on Saturday evening.

Volunteers do not have to be registered for the conference; however, those not registered may not attend sessions or monitor sessions.
