Melinda's birth date is said to be 20 Aug 1820. If the 1820 census was taken in Washington Co, Virginia, exactly on 7 Aug 1820, Malinda would not have been born for another 13 days. The true date taken is not written on the document image. Perhaps this enumeration have actually been taken later in the year and that is why Malinda is listed on this census?. From Ancestry.com, "The official enumeration day of the 1820 census was 7 August 1820. All questions asked were supposed to refer to that date. The count was due within six months, but the due date was extended by law to allow completion within thirteen months."
