Titus-Waller - Short Biography of Ebenezer Brown Titus
TITUS, EBENEZER BROWN (1838–1883). Ebenezer Brown (EB) Titus was born on April 9, 1838 to Andrew Jackson and Jane Park Brown Titus in Shelby County, Tennessee. He was the oldest of three children born to Jack and Jane. Ebenezer moved with his parents to Savannah, Texas when he was a young child; his younger sister, Ann Rebecca Titus, was born in the Red River County in Nov 1840. He served in the Civil War from Red River County, and in later life was referred to as Capt. EB Titus. Ebenezer sustained significant injuries during the war, which may have shortened his life. He married Mary Katherine Waller in Red River County on Sep. 28, 1864. Ebenezer and Mary Kate had one son and three daughters who lived to adulthood. Ebenezer died of pneumonia in Red River County on Jan. 31, 1883 at the age of 44. EB was buried in the Savannah Cemetery near his father and grandfather, Andrew Jackson and James Titus.
