McDonald-Helton - John K. McDonald and Lucy Helton - Brief bio

John K. McDonald was born in either Virginia or Tennessee. His parents likely moved to White County, Tennessee, in 1807. John divorced Lucy Helton in Warren County, Tennessee. He is found in Sumpter County, Alabama, in 1840. A deed names his wife Nancy and children Christopher Columbus, James Simon, and Elizabeth. He received a Mercer Colony land grant in Hill County, Texas. He died probably in the early 1850s. Probate was settled in 1876.
