Tschoepe-Hanke - Brief Bio


Anton and Elenora immigrated from Germany, where they had married, to Texas, some time in the 1850s. Their eldest daughter, Auguste, married another German immigrant, Gottlieb Blum, in Texas in 1853. Anton and Elenora are enumerated in the 1860 census. Anton works as a as a carpenter and Elenora is keeping house and looking after the children at home.

After the Civil War Anton registered to vote. In the 1870 and 1880 censuses he is enumerated as a farmer. On 28 July 1856 Anton became a naturalized citizen in District Court in Seguin, Texas.Anton and Elenora have many descendants.
