Garner - David Hess Garner Sr. - Brief bio



In 1835, David Garner fought against Santa Anna's forces as a member of the Army. He was discharged in 1835 from the Army. He served as the sheriff for Jefferson county and was elected representative to the Fourth Congress of Texas.

David Garner was issued Texas General Land Office certificate 691 for 640 acres for having been in Bexar County by 5-10 December 1835; this was in accordance with the act of Congress passed December 1837 and witnessed on the 14th of December 1838.
