Fears-Thomas - William Jesse Fears and Jessie Arlee Thomas - Brief bio



Even though W.J. Fears died in 1926 after Texas issued death certificates, no certificate for him has been found. William and Jessie lived in a tiny, rural community and the doctor apparently did not submit a form for his death or the death of their youngest child the following year. 

William was a preacher. He become ill and could not work. Their farm was lost and there was no property for a probate. The only record is the word of his widow, Jessie, and his surviving children who are now deceased. His death is correct on his headstone. The headstone is not correct for his birth but the two census records included are correct.
