Sockwell-Paul - Florence Newton Sockwell and Maud Alma Paul - Brief bio



Florence Newton Sockwell ran the cotton gin in Greenville, Texas. He was elected Mayor in 1932 and served as such until his death in 1937. He died in a car accident coming back from a meeting in Austin, Texas, on business related to his position. His wife, Maud Alma, served as mayor for the rest of his term until April 1938. They lived on Park St, in Greenville. 

TX000068 has documentation for this lineage that we will add: headstone photos, copies of birth, marriage, and death certificates.
